On Chinese construction machines the ECU follows the engine supplier almost perfectly. Cummins QSB6.7, QSL9 and QSX15 means a Cummins CM2350 or CM2350A; an Isuzu 4HK1 or 4JJ1 means Transtron; Shangchai and Weichai mean Denso or Bosch MD1; Deutz means a Bosch MD1CS069 / MD1CC878; Caterpillar engines mean ADEM A6E. Once you know that, Sany, XCMG, LiuGong, Sunward, Zoomlion, Shantui and SDLG stop looking like seven different brands and start looking like five ECU families. Together they are the biggest Chinese group in our database after the trucks.
Key facts
- Published versions: Sany 53, XCMG 39, LiuGong 24, Sunward 10, SEM 6, plus Zoomlion, Shantui, SDLG, Sinoboom, Hangcha.
- The dominant unit is Cummins CM2350 / CM2350A - 391 versions across 54 makes in our database, and the same unit we work on daily on American Cummins.
- One file often covers several brands. Where a Cummins unit is identical across machines, the same platform line is listed under every brand that uses it - so a Tier 3 or Tier 4i loader is found under LiuGong, Sany, XCMG, Zoomlion or Hyundai Construction Equipment alike.
- Machines cost more on the DPF position (180-265 EUR on EDC17CV52 / CV54 / VD1CC001) because the DOC and regeneration strategy is tied into hydraulics and fan control.
- Typical job: full emissions delete plus an economy map, on machines working far from any AdBlue supply.

Two control units on some machines. Denso 1N83M and TRW EMS2.3 installations carry a separate AdBlue module (ACM / ACM DCU17); Continental MCM platforms carry an ACM as well. Read both units and attach both files, and clear all AdBlue messages from the display before writing.
Reading and ordering
- Start from the engine plate, not the machine. QSB / QSL / QSX / QSF means a Cummins CM unit; 4HK1 / 4JJ1 means Transtron; SC9DF means Denso; TCD means Deutz with a Bosch MD1; C4.4 / C9.3 means Caterpillar ADEM.
- Read it. Cummins units are commonly handled with Calterm-type tooling producing .xcal files; Bosch, Denso and Transtron units want bench or boot. Autotuner, KESS3 / K-TAG, PCMtuner and CMD cover most of them.
- Order at fs.auto-remap.com - brand Sany, XCMG, LiuGong, Sunward, Zoomlion, Shantui, SDLG, SEM - then the machine, engine and ECU type. Platform lines such as "Tier 3 excavators" or "Tier 4i loaders/excavators" cover several brands at once and are listed under each of them, so always order under your own badge.
- In the comment, say whether the DPF is already gutted, whether you want AdBlue fully off or only reduced, and whether the file should be Stage 1 or ECO.
FAQ
Why is a DPF off on a machine more expensive than on a truck?
On excavators, loaders and cranes the DOC and DPF strategy is woven into fan control, hydraulic load management and the regeneration request logic. On EDC17CV52 / CV54 and VD1CC001 the position is 180-265 EUR for that reason.
Is the Cummins CM2350 in a Chinese excavator the same as in an American truck?
The control unit and the tooling are the same; the calibration is machine-specific. That is exactly why our Cummins experience transfers - see our CM2350 and CM2450 article.
My machine is only listed as "Tier 3 excavators" or "Tier 4i loaders" - is that right?
Yes. Those are platform lines: groups of machines from LiuGong, Sany, XCMG, Zoomlion and Hyundai that share the same Cummins unit and the same file. The line is listed under each of those brands, so pick your own brand and that line.
Can you work on Isuzu-engined Sany and Sunward excavators?
Yes - Transtron 4HK1, 4JJ1, 4Jxx, SH7059 and SH725x are covered: DPF 85-120 EUR, EGR 70 EUR, AdBlue 190 EUR, Stage 1 or ECO 120-140 EUR.
Do you cover forklifts and boom lifts too?
Yes: Hangcha, Everun, Xinchai, Goodsense and Sinoboom are in the list, on Cummins CM2880, Bosch MD1CC878, EDC17C81 and EDC17CV54.
