Isuzu builds trucks, but even more Isuzu engines go into machines that carry other names. The 4HK1 and 6HK1 in an Elf or Forward are the same engines that power Hitachi, CASE, Link-Belt and Sumitomo excavators - and all of them are controlled by Transtron, Isuzu's own electronics company. Add the Denso units on older and newest trucks and the Bosch units on Euro 6 models, and you have the full picture of this guide.

Year is a poor guide: an NPR from the same period can carry a Transtron, a Denso SH72546 or a Bosch EDC17CV41 depending on market and emission level. Typical requests: Elf and NPR / NQR - DPF, EGR and AdBlue off with the soot counter; Grafter - AdBlue module off; Forward 4HK1 - DPF and EGR off with Stage 1; specific codes such as P0382 or P2902 off on request. Clear stored DPF and AdBlue faults and inducement countdowns before writing.

Transtron or Denso - how do I tell on an Isuzu?
The label names the maker. Without it, your tool reports the ECU type once connected. Both are covered; prices differ, so pick the matching entry.
My Grafter / Giga has a separate AdBlue unit. Do you need it?
Yes - for AdBlue off send both the engine ECU read and the AdBlue module read.
Is the 4HK1 in my Hitachi excavator the same as in an Isuzu truck?
Same engine, same Transtron family, different calibration. Send the excavator's read and pick Hitachi in the order form.
Can you switch off just one code?
