The petrol car runs on E85, on petrol or on any blend of the two, with no extra box: only the engine ECU software is changed. In France today, a litre of E85 costs €0.91 against €2.17 for E10 petrol, about 47 % less per 100 km, extra consumption included.

Optionally, the E85 Stage 1 uses the octane rating of ethanol (≈ 104 RON) for more power and torque on top of the saving.

A remap is a modification of the vehicle: owners should check the rules in their country and inform their insurer. In France, only approved boxes give the FE mention on the registration document.
75 makes, 5,284 petrol engines. Every engine page has an E85 tab with the E85 gain, the E85 + Stage 1 gain and the yearly saving.

Send the ECU read and receive the E85 Flex Fuel file in about 30 minutes. Original backed up, file checked and technical support included.

A software change in the engine ECU: injection, ignition and cold-start maps are recalibrated so the engine runs on E85 (Superethanol), on petrol or on any blend of the two. No extra box is fitted: the original ECU handles whatever fuel is in the tank.
Yes. The Flex Fuel file adapts injection to the blend actually in the tank. The driver fills up with E85, E10 or 98 petrol, or mixes them, without switching anything.
France has the densest network, with more than 3,700 stations, many of them close to the Belgian, Luxembourg, German, Swiss, Italian and Spanish borders. E85 is also sold in Sweden, Finland, Hungary, Austria and other countries.
An ethanol box lengthens injection time and leaves ignition untouched. A remap recalibrates the injection, ignition and cold-start maps directly, and can be combined with a Stage 1 for more power. In France, only approved boxes give the FE mention on the registration document.
Ethanol holds less energy per litre: count on roughly 20 to 30 % more volume. Because a litre of E85 costs less than half the price of E10 in France, the cost per 100 km still drops by 40 to 50 %.
The file enriches cold starts and warm-up. Winter-grade E85 also contains less ethanol (EN 15293). In very cold weather, below −10 °C, a third of petrol in the tank makes the first starts easier.
Most recent direct-injection petrol engines (TSI, TFSI, PureTech, TCe, EcoBoost and others) can be converted. On very powerful engines the capacity of the high-pressure pump is checked during calibration, and the Flex mode limits the ethanol share if needed.
