Readiness monitors ready: OBD readiness status after modifications
OBD readiness monitors show whether the ECU has completed its self-tests for systems such as the catalyst, EGR, oxygen sensors and EVAP. After a modification or a repair, some monitors may never finish — the car then shows "not ready" on an OBD scan, which is a problem during inspections and checks.
Typical problems
- Monitors never complete after EGR, DPF, decat or sensor removal.
- "Not ready" after battery disconnection or ECU flash that would take long driving to clear.
- Inspection failures based on OBD readiness status.
