Mitsubishi Fuso and UD Trucks are Japanese truck makers whose electronics come mostly from their European owners. Fuso belongs to Daimler Truck, so the heavy Super Great runs Mercedes engines on Continental MCM / ACM, and most Canters run Bosch. UD belonged to the Volvo Group for years, so the Condor and Quon run the same TRW EMS2 units as Volvo, Renault and Mack. Only the Fuso Fighter and older models stay on Denso. This guide sorts it out.
Key facts
- Fuso Canter: mostly Bosch - EDC16C31, EDC17CP15 / CP52 / C49, EDC17CV55 / CV54, MD1CC878, MD1CS069; older 6M60 Canters on Denso SH7058 / SH7055.
- Fuso Fighter (6M60 7.5): Denso SH7058, SH7254x, SH725x, often with a separate Continental ACM2 AdBlue module.
- Fuso Super Great / Shogun (10.7 and 12.8): Continental MCM2 / MCM2.1 + ACM2 / ACM2.1 - the Mercedes platform (article).
- UD Condor and Quon: TRW EMS2.2, EMS2.3 and EMS2.4, often with a TRW ACM - about 100 versions, listed under Nissan.
- Prices: Canter from DPF 80 EUR, EGR 50 EUR, AdBlue 140 EUR, Stage 1 70 EUR; Fighter Denso 95-105 / 85 / 200-220 / 160 EUR; UD on TRW 140-160 / 105-120 / 260-280 / 120 EUR.

All Fuso versions sit on our Mitsubishi page together with the L200 and Pajero. Stock and Stage 1 power for the Canter and Rosa are in our tuning catalog. In the order form the brand is Mitsubishi Fuso, not Mitsubishi.

UD versions are listed on our Nissan page (UD Trucks began as Nissan Diesel). In the order form the brand is UD Truck. The TRW platform is the same as on Volvo, Renault and Mack - see our TRW article - and we decoded the UD Condor EMS2.2 fault-code tables separately, because UD stores them differently from Volvo.
What we do
- DPF, EGR, AdBlue off on every unit above. Where there is an AdBlue module - Continental ACM on Fighter and Super Great, TRW ACM on UD - send both reads.
- Stage 1 / ECO - fleets running Canters and Condors mostly ask for the ECO file.
- Selective DTC off - you give the codes (P-codes or SPN / FMI), we disable exactly those.
- Prices: UD on TRW EMS2.2 - DPF 140 EUR, EGR 105 EUR, AdBlue 260 EUR, Stage 1 120 EUR; on EMS2.3 / EMS2.4 + ACM - 160 / 120 / 280 / 120 EUR; Big Thumb Denso - 180 / 105 / 320 / 150 EUR.
Before writing an AdBlue-off file clear every AdBlue warning and inducement countdown. On the TRW and Continental platforms a stored inducement state in the AdBlue module is the most common reason a finished file still shows warnings.
Reading
Bosch EDC16 / EDC17 Canters, the Denso units and TRW EMS2.x read with Alientech KESS3 and K-TAG, New Genius, Magic FLEX, CMD, FGTech, PCMflash and similar tools - some over OBD, others on the bench or in boot mode depending on the unit. Continental MCM / ACM units are handled as described in our MCM / ACM article. Keep the original reads of both units.
FAQ
Why is my Japanese Canter on a Bosch ECU?
Since Daimler took over Fuso, most Canter engines (4P10 and the Euro 6 models) use Bosch EDC17 and MD1 units. Only the older 6M60 7.5 L versions and the Fighter stay on Denso.
Is a UD Quon file the same as a Volvo FH file?
The ECU platform is the same TRW EMS2 family, but the software, the engines and the way UD stores fault codes are its own. Send the UD read and pick UD Truck in the order form.
My Fighter shows an AdBlue module as a second ECU. What do I send?
Both: the Denso engine ECU and the Continental ACM2.
