Howo and Sitrak are the same company - Sinotruk (CNHTC) - and in the workshop they behave like two different trucks. Howo is the classic tipper and tractor range built around Sinotruk's own D10 and D12 engines and the MC series; Sitrak is the premium line developed with MAN technology. Between them you will meet four completely different control units, and the model badge will not tell you which one you have. This guide shows what is fitted where, and what we can do with each.

Do not go by the model. A C7H can be an EDC17CV44, an MD1CE100, an MD1CE868 or an MD1CC878 depending on the engine. Read the ECU label (or let the tool identify it) and search the software number in our Howo version list.
What we can do, and what it costs
| Solution | EDC17CV44 | MD1CE100 / WISE10 | MD1CE868 | Denso |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DPF / DOC off | 140 EUR | 110 EUR | 130 EUR | 120-140 EUR |
| EGR off | 90 EUR | 85 EUR | 95 EUR | 90-95 EUR |
| AdBlue / SCR off (or reduction) | 180 EUR | 190-220 EUR | 220 EUR | 220-240 EUR |
| Stage 1 or ECO file | 140 EUR | 140 EUR | 140 EUR | 140-160 EUR |
| Throttle valve / swirl flaps | 95 EUR | 95 EUR | 95 EUR | 95 EUR |
| Selective DTC off | 50 EUR | 60 EUR | 60 EUR | 50-60 EUR |
| Checksum / back to original | 50 / 40 EUR | 50 / 40 EUR | 50 / 40 EUR | 40-50 / 30-40 EUR |
AdBlue reduction costs the same as AdBlue off - say which one you want in the order. A full emissions delete plus an ECO map is the normal fleet job on these trucks.
Reading and ordering
- Identify the unit. Bosch units carry the type on the label (EDC17CV44, MD1CE100); a Weichai engine may say WISE10 instead - same hardware. Denso units carry a Sinotruk part number such as VG1038090001.
- Read it. Many EDC17CV44 trucks read over OBD; MD1 and Denso normally want bench or boot. Autotuner, KESS3 / K-TAG, PCMtuner and CMD all cover these. Keep the original read.
- Order at fs.auto-remap.com: brand Howo or Sinotruk, then the model, engine and ECU type. Upload the read, tick the options, add a comment (Stage 1 or ECO, AdBlue off or reduction, which DTCs).
- Version not listed? Send the read - new Sinotruk software numbers appear constantly and we add them, usually the same day.
FAQ
Is Sitrak listed separately from Howo?
No. Sitrak models (C7H, G7, G7S) sit under the Howo and Sinotruk brands in our file service, because they share the control units and the engines.
My Sitrak C7H has an MD1 - which one?
C7H appears with MD1CE100, MD1CE868 and MD1CC878. The software number on the label (or from the tool) decides it; the prices differ slightly, so pick the matching entry or send us the read and we will confirm.
Can you do AdBlue off on the Euro 6 MC13 engines?
Yes, on MD1CE100 / WISE10, MD1CE868 and MD1CC878. Clear every AdBlue warning and inducement countdown on the dashboard before you write the file - a stored countdown is the usual reason warnings come back.
Are Howo D10 / D12 engines related to MAN?
The Sinotruk D-series and MC-series come from MAN technology licensed to CNHTC, which is why you also see Bosch MD1 units here, the same family we work with on MAN and Kamaz. That does not make the files interchangeable - the calibration is Sinotruk's own.
