Marine ECU tuning — jet skis, outboards and inboards
A boat or a personal watercraft spends long periods near full throttle under a constant heavy load, so the factory calibration is written with wide margins and hard power caps. Most outboards and smaller jet skis are naturally aspirated petrol engines, the high-output ones are supercharged or turbocharged, and many inboards are diesel. In each case the work is done in the original engine software, the same way as on a motorcycle.
What is optimised: fueling maps — injection quantity and lambda targets at part and full load — ignition maps and their correction factors, torque limiters, throttle response and the WOT limiter, the rev limiter, and the adaptive fuel and timing logic so the engine makes the most of the fuel it runs on. On supercharged and turbo engines the boost and torque request tables are matched to the new maps; on diesels, injection quantity, timing and smoke limits.
Speed limiter removal, DTC off and checksum correction are available depending on the controller. Send the original read through the file service — if this software number is new to us, we add it and quote the options.
