Original ECU files database: 197 000+ stock reads for 505 vehicle makes and 81 ECU manufacturers, Quick buy for €20 by e-mail

Language: English · Русский · Español

Every tune starts from an original file. When the read from the car is already modified, corrupted, or simply missing, a clean stock file of the same software is what puts the job back on track — to compare, to restore, or to start a new calibration from scratch. That is exactly what our original ECU files database is for.

The database lists 197 071 original (stock) ECU files for cars, trucks, tractors, construction machines, motorbikes and boats. Every file has its own page with the hardware, software and calibration numbers, so you can check the match before you pay. You can buy a file in two minutes without registration, or through your account on our file service together with tuning work. This guide explains how it all works.

Key facts at a glance

  • 197 071 original files for 505 vehicle makes and 81 ECU manufacturers — Bosch, Denso, Delphi, Continental, Siemens, Marelli, Temic, Delco and more. Open the database.
  • Search by any number from your read: hardware (HW), software (SW), calibration or SW upgrade — or narrow down by vehicle and ECU.
  • Quick buy: €20 by card, no registration. A ready-to-use .bin file arrives by e-mail, usually within minutes. Your card is only charged when the file is ready.
  • Or buy with a file-service account: €20 per file from your balance — top up €40 and get +€50 bonus, usable for more files or for tuning.
  • Original reads only — no full backups, EEPROM, SGO or VBF. Check HW/SW against your own read: all sales are final.
  • Updated weekly — new files are added with every import.

What an original ECU file is

An original file — ORI, stock file or factory dump — is the unmodified software read from an engine (or gearbox) control unit exactly as it left the factory or the last dealer update. It contains the program and the calibration: all maps, limits and switches the manufacturer set for that engine and that market.

Each original file is identified by several numbers that you also see in your own read:

NumberWhat it isExample
HW — hardwareThe part number of the control unit itself. One HW number often runs many different software versions.Bosch 0261S06674
SW — softwareThe software version inside the unit. The main number to match.Bosch 1037516462
CalibrationThe calibration (data set) on top of the software — decides between files that share one SW number.KM901EU1209501
SW upgradeThe dealer update / part number some makers use (VAG, Toyota, Ford and others).VAG 022906032

The numbers decide, not the vehicle name. Two cars of the same model and year can carry different software. Always match HW, SW and calibration with your own read — the vehicle name is only a filter.

Why tuners and workshops need one

  • Return a vehicle to stock. Before a sale, a warranty visit or an inspection — or after a customer's car comes back with someone else's tune.
  • Repair a bad tune. A read that has been modified badly, with broken checksums or wrong maps, can be replaced by the clean original of the same software.
  • See what was changed. Compare a modified read with the original in WinOLS or a similar editor and every changed map shows up immediately.
  • Start a calibration from a clean base. Tuning a file that is already modified means tuning on top of unknown changes. An original gives you a known starting point.
  • Recover from a failed write. When a write was interrupted and the backup is missing or damaged, the original of the same software is often the way back.

Most of our original files are compatible for writing back to the ECU with Alientech KESS3, K-TAG and similar professional tools. File sizes and formats differ between tools, so check that the file suits your device before you write it.

How to find the right file

1. Start with a number from your read

Read the ECU with your tool and note the identifiers it shows. Paste one number at a time — HW, SW, calibration or SW upgrade — into the quick search, exactly as it appears in your read. ECU family names work too, for example EDC17C50 or MEVD17.2.3.

2. Or narrow it down by vehicle and ECU

No number at hand? Choose the vehicle make, model and engine, then the ECU brand and model. The more you specify, the shorter the list.

3. Use the number pages

Each number has a page that lists every file carrying it and where the number appears — as hardware, software, calibration or SW upgrade. Example: 022906032 is a SW upgrade number on two Volkswagen Transporter files and the hardware number of a Porsche Cayenne unit. Spaces and different spellings are recognised.

4. Compare every number on the file page

The file page shows the full set — make and model, engine, ECU brand and model, HW, SW, calibration and SW upgrade — plus links to all files with the same HW and to all files of that vehicle and ECU. Example: KTM Duke 125 with Bosch M17.8.7, HW 0261S06674, SW 1037516462.

Your number is not listed? Then we do not have this file. Every original file we hold is listed on the site and found by its search, so we cannot source a file that does not appear there. Try each number separately before you give up.

The order, step by step

How to get an original ECU file: search by number, compare HW SW and calibration, Quick buy for €20 by card, file by e-mail

  1. Find the file in the database and open its page.
  2. Compare HW, SW, calibration and SW upgrade with your own read.
  3. Click Quick buy, enter your e-mail twice (no temporary mailboxes — the file would never reach you) and confirm three points: you checked the numbers, you get the original read only, and all sales are final.
  4. Pay by card on the secure Stripe page — Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You immediately get an order number and a private status page.
  5. Receive the file by e-mail as an attachment and a download link; it can also be downloaded from the status page. Most files arrive within minutes; some are prepared by the supplier's operator first, normally within 24 hours.

Ordered the same file with the same e-mail before? The site warns you and shows the existing order, so you do not pay twice.

What you receive — and what you do not

You receiveNot included
The original (stock) read of the ECU, exactly as read — no modificationsFull backups of the tool
A ready-to-use .bin file — nothing to unpack or rename (Quick buy)EEPROM / EPROM dumps
The file and its numbers exactly as listed on the file pageSGO, VBF and other dealer formats

Questions and answers

What is an ORI file?

ORI is short for original: the stock, unmodified software read from an ECU, also called a stock file or ECU dump. Tuners use it as the starting point for a tune, to return a vehicle to stock or to compare a modified read with the original.

Are the files modified in any way?

No. Every file is an original read, delivered exactly as it was read. If you need a modified file, order tuning on our file service.

How do I know it is the right file for my ECU?

Compare the hardware, software and calibration numbers (and the SW upgrade where listed) with your own read. The vehicle name alone is not enough — two cars of the same model can carry different software.

How much does an original file cost?

€20 per file — with Quick buy by card, or from the balance of a file-service account, where a €40 top-up gives a +€50 bonus.

Do I need to register?

No. Quick buy needs only your e-mail and a card. Registration on the file service is useful if you buy several files or also order tuning.

How fast does the file arrive?

Usually within minutes after payment. Some files are prepared by the supplier's operator first; then it takes a few hours, normally within 24 hours.

What if the file cannot be provided?

With Quick buy your card is only charged when the file is ready. If we cannot provide it, you are not charged.

Can I write the file back to the ECU?

Most of our original files are compatible for writing with Alientech KESS3, K-TAG and similar tools. Tools expect different file sizes, so check that the file suits your device. We do not supply full backups, EEPROM, SGO or VBF files.

My number is not in the database. Can you get the file?

No. Every original file we hold is listed on the site and found by its search. Search one number at a time — HW, SW or calibration — exactly as it appears in your read.

Looking for an original file? Open the original ECU files database, search by the HW, SW or calibration number from your read, and get the file by e-mail in minutes.
