Kubota is two things at once: a tractor and machine brand, and one of the biggest compact diesel engine makers in the world. That is why a Kubota control unit can turn up in an M7 tractor, an SVL track loader, a Bobcat, a Manitou telehandler or a forklift. The good news for a workshop is that behind all those badges sit a handful of Denso ECU families and two Bosch units. This guide shows which one you have and what we can do with it.

Model names alone are not enough: an M5091 appears with four different Denso types depending on year and emission stage. The software number decides. On Kubota Denso units it looks like 1H035-69955 on the older SH7058 generation and like NR0HKB42V38MA on the newer ones - search it in our Kubota list.

The control unit follows the engine, so a Dieci or a Manitou with a V3800 uses the same Denso family as a Kubota M5. On those machines pick the machine brand in the order form - see Dieci, Manitou, Bobcat, Takeuchi - and the ECU type.

Typical requests from workshops: M Series - DPF and EGR off plus the soot counter; M Series Stage V - AdBlue module off; SSV and SVL loaders - DPF off; BX - DPF and EGR off with Stage 1. Before writing a DPF-off file, clear the stored regeneration request and the DPF faults with your diagnostic tool.
Reading and ordering
- Tools: we work with reads from Alientech KESS3 and K-TAG, New Genius, Magic FLEX, CMD, FGTech, PCMflash and other common tools. Some Kubota Denso units read on the bench, others only in boot mode - follow your tool's diagram for the exact ECU, and ask us if unsure.
- Keep the original read with the serial number and software ID.
- In the order form choose Kubota, then the series as listed - B Series, BX Series, L Series, L60 Series, M Series, SKID STEERS SSV Series, TLB Series - then the engine and the ECU type, which sets the price.

FAQ
My Kubota M Series keeps asking for a parked regeneration. Will DPF off stop it?
Yes. We disable the regeneration strategy, the soot model and the soot counter together with the filter monitoring, so the request does not come back. Clear the stored request and codes before writing the file.
Is the Kubota in my Bobcat or Manitou the same ECU as in a Kubota tractor?
The ECU family is the same when the engine is the same (V2607, V3307, V3800). The calibration is the machine maker's own, so send the read from that machine and pick its brand in the order form.
Does my B or BX have an AdBlue system?
The small B and BX tractors do not use SCR; DPF and EGR are the relevant options there. AdBlue appears on bigger Stage V tractors such as the M5, M6 and M7.
Which Kubota models use Bosch instead of Denso?
The L60 series (L5460, L6060), the MX5200 and many KX compact excavators with D1803 and V2403 engines use Bosch EDC17C55 or EDC17CV45.
