Continental EEC3 — Scania ACM on the R450

This page lists the Scania ACM controller under the spelling “Continental EEC3”, as it is written in the source database: one software version from 2016, on the Scania R450 with the 12.7 L. The main page for this controller is Siemens/Continental EEC3.

EEC3 is the ACM — the aftertreatment controller. On these trucks it runs the AdBlue system, and the diesel particulate filter sensors are handled through the ACM as well. It is part of the Scania Euro 6 emission system and works alongside the engine controller.

On Euro 6 Scania added a DOC/DPF to the EGR and SCR systems. The solution is a full delete — EGR, SCR/AdBlue and DOC/DPF — modified by hand in WinOLS, with all sensors free to disconnect. For AdBlue/SCR off the AdBlue pump module does not have to be removed; if the DOC/DPF is removed, the AdBlue pump module has to be removed and disconnected as well. AdBlue dosing can also be reduced by 50–70% instead of removed.

It is priced the same as the Scania engine controller EMD1.

Every software version below has its own page with the vehicle it belongs to, the solutions available for that exact file and a price calculator. Read the ECU, find your number, open the page.

Questions about Continental EEC3

What is EEC3 on a Scania?

It is the ACM — the controller of the AdBlue system. The diesel particulate filter sensors are handled through it as well.

Do I need to remove the AdBlue pump?

For AdBlue/SCR off the AdBlue pump module does not have to be removed. If the DOC/DPF is removed, the AdBlue pump module has to be removed and disconnected as well.

Can I remove only the DPF and keep AdBlue?

We do not recommend it: the NOx sensor sees the emissions and the SCR side faults. AdBlue can be removed on its own while the DPF stays in service.

How is EEC3 priced?

The same as the Scania engine controller EMD1.
