The first ECU platform for the 3.0L Duramax, fitted to 2020–2022 Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500. It was superseded by the E66, so a 2022 truck can carry either — check the OS number, not the model year.

Unlike the bigger Duramax controllers the E98 needs no send-in unlock service — HP Tuners licenses it for 4 credits and reads it over MPVI, and EFILive supports it as well. That is why a full delete here costs roughly half of what the 3.0L and 6.6L cost.
